Zikodrive in Space!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been selected to complete a coil driver for an upcoming satellite launch. The project is for a compact and lightweight coil driver which is required to fit into a tight envelope and which will be going into space later this year. Without doubt, the key challenge on this project is getting the current through the board whilst maintaining exceptionally low mass and a tight envelope. This leaves no room for heat sinks or other common thermal dissipation methods and has meant extensive testing on a number of potential options prior to the project starting.

The project marks an exciting new development for Zikodrive and more details will follow as the project develops.
